Carrington Resort, Northland

Carrington Resort is a 3000 acre Northland hotel with four spectacular kilometres of secluded white sand coastline, incorporating a Matt Dye designed tournament-standard 18 hole golf course, an acclaimed Northland vineyard and winery, a working Black Angus beef stud farm, and 900 acres of restored wetlands on site.

Located in Northland’s Karikari Peninsula, Carrington Resort’s world class facilities include an infinity swimming pool and spa pool, Carrington Restaurant & Bar, two championship tennis courts, Olympic standard clay and skeet target shooting range and a gymnasium.

Solitaire Lodge, Rotorua

Solitaire Lodge is situated on a private, secluded peninsular on the shores of the beautiful Lake Tarawera, Rotorua. Its elevated position provides breathtaking views across the lake to the grandeur of Mount Tarawera. The Lodge is designed to take advantage of the natural views of the calm still waters of the Lagoon and the contrasting panorama over the lake to Mount Tarawera. Solitaire Lodge's position is unique, not far from the Blue and Green Lakes, and only 25 minutes drive from Rotorua, land of bubbling pools, steaming hot springs and geysers.

The Lodge has six Junior Executive Suites, all furnished to give maximum comfort with spacious, individually designed interiors and private terraces. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the views over the lake or lagoon. Solitaire Lodge also offers the Tarawera Suite with its stunning 180° views accompanied by soft colours create a soothing and relaxing atmosphere, the Solitaire Suite showcasing one of the most famous views to wake up to in New Zealand, and The Villa, a two-storey, two-bedroom Villa with a large lounge area which allows for private dining and is ideal for a family.

The Lounge at Solitaire Lodge, with 180° views through floor to ceiling windows, is furnished for total relaxation. Here guests can exchange of stories of the days adventures and plan for the activities of the day to come. Passing from the lounge to the dining room. Here guests enjoy the culinary delights that the chefs at Solitaire Lodge have to offer. A choice of dining venue is available whether it be in the main Dining Room with other travellers, or outside on the terrace under a canopy of stars, an intimate candlelit table in your suite, or relaxing amid the soft aroma of the herb garden. The chefs at Solitaire Lodge combine the best of New Zealand produce to present dishes that simply enhance the natural flavours while the wines are chosen to compliment the menu.

Activities available from Solitaire Lodge and the surrounding region are numerous and varied and as each season changes so to does the activity calendar. From fishing to jet boating, from tramping to visiting a Maori village and from horse riding to off-road driving guests can experience everything within easy distance of Solitaire Lodge. With Mount Tarawera as a backdrop, guests visiting Solitaire Lodge enjoy seeking out the spectacular thermal areas in and round Rotorua, walking through the ferns and pungas of the native bush to the tumbling waters of Tarawera Falls, taking a helicopter ride over the mountains crater or walk through having a relaxing soak in the Terrace Spa Pool

Kawaha Point Lodge, Rotorua

Although situated in an oasis of calm, Kawaha Point Lodge is only a 5 minute drive from Rotorua city centre, and a 15 minute ride from the cities’ airport. For visitors who’d rather not leave the haven of the lodge, there are plenty of recreational activities to enjoy with on-site activities including swimming, a sauna, petanque, croquet, lake cruises and even a private Maori cultural concert performance on the lawns. Three eighteen-hole golf courses are also located nearby.

Kawaha Point Lodge’s luxury lodge accommodation comprises 8 beautifully appointed super king/twin guest suites with stunning views over the lake or gardens. Each suite, named after one of the lakes in the area, has its own balcony to enable guests to enjoy their panoramic view in private. All of the rooms are elegantly decorated in calming, neutral tones of rich creams and taupes, and furnished with hand-picked pieces of antique furniture and notable New Zealand artwork. This colour theme runs throughout the lodge, and in order to maximise their magical views across the lake, the drawing room, dining room and library are on the first floor and open to a broad, shaded verandah – perfect for a leisurely breakfast or pre-dinner drinks.

Each guest suite is air-conditioned and offers a flat screen television, guest telephone, broadband internet, selection of teas & fresh coffee, homemade cookies and fresh fruit. The library also offers a large selection of reading material and a DVD player, DVDs and CDs are available on request. Dining is also a memorable experience with guests invited to eat al fresco in the lakeside gardens, in the conservatory, at the chandelier-lit Lodge table, or in one of the other private areas in the lodge. A secret ‘grotto’ that can only be reached via the wisteria-draped arches and stepped terrace, is an ‘alternative’ dining room for a celebratory occasion or wedding party.

Lodge Rooms

Every last detail required for guest comfort has been carefully considered, from the finest monogrammed bed linen, to the freshly baked biscuits. The bathrooms offer every indulgence as well as being spacious and light. Dressing rooms are both large and generous.

Lake Taupo Lodge, Taupo

Relax, unwind and soak up the atmosphere in this lakeside retreat in the volcanic heartland of New Zealand.  It is set within magnificent landscaped gardens overlooking beautiful Lake Taupo and the mountains.

Lake Taupo is one of New Zealand's finest recreational playgrounds and is reputed as being one of the best trout fishing areas in the world. The sweeping landscapes and exotic geothermal areas provide a wealth of unique activities that capture the imagination of all who come here.

All the executive suites have super king beds or king singles. The ensuite bathrooms have under floor heating and five of the executive suites have large baths as well as walk in showers. Fresh flowers, seasonal fruit, milk and homemade cookies are in the room every day along with a selection of teas and coffee.


Wharekauhau Lodge, Palliser Bay (near Wellington)

Built along the lines of an Edwardian country mansion, the main lodge captures the gracious lifestyle of a bygone era. As you wander into the grand lodge, the first point that catches the eye is the awe inspiring view over Palliser Bay, framed perfectly from every vantage point.

Each room in the main lodge has a different feel, from large open lounges to smaller, cozier areas such as the Palliser Room, or the Drawing Room. The antique furniture and over-sized fireplaces throughout the lodge capture the grandeur of yesteryear.

At the heart of it all, the main lounge, grand in design, intimate in feel; Expansive sofas and deep armchairs are dotted about, inviting guests to pause for conversation, a quiet glass of wine, or to simply relax and take up a good book. The elegant Dinning Room, flows through to the impressive Country Kitchen. Large marble benches and an open kitchen offer guests the chance to relax and discuss recipes or local ingredients with the chefs.
